I love rockband, but my PS2 died, and I cant afford for 360. So I devised a plan. I am going to get this bitch to run on PC.
I will be posting my trials and tribulations here as the project goes on. Hoping to have some fun, and maybe get some people here a happy time as they play on their pc.

UPDATE:
After getting massive lag in the menus, I disabled some emulation techniques and got it going at 62FPS in the menu. Which leads to my next issue. The game detects my drums and guitar as a dualshock. Im going to do some testing to find out how instruments identify themselves.

UPDATE: Im closing for the night. Heres what I got so far. After reading raw data coming from the USB port, I notice that each of my instruments has a different ID, and the guitar is hold left d-pad at all times. I found that theres only 1 axis on the drums too (bass pedal). I think that I am on a verge of getting this working

UPDATE: After getting a working plugin, the game took my drums as drums, and im now in-game. I had to disable the video background, but all in all, its running pretty great. I will post a video soon. I am also trying to fix a couple bugs:
Failing causes lockup (most likely trying to stop the video that isnt playing) Scoring is forgotten at the end of the song (memory leak most likely) 2 songs are not working at all (welcome home and run to the hills) and are freezing in the loading screen instantly.
I would highly suggest a higher end PC for this. I will try to get 360 instruments to run on here soon, and maybe even get guitar hero world tour to run.

I forgot about posting this here lol. Heres an update:
I fixed the lockup after the songs, by removing the [endvideo]event that was at the end of each song. Took forever going in 1 by 1 through each song LOL
I fixed the scoring by making it store it in the RAM, but still cant get it to clear it, so you need to stop the emulator after ahwile, or it gets laggy
the 2 songs taht wouldnt play were actually put there by harmonix, to keep people from playing the game in an emulator like I did xD. It was actually supposed to happen on all the songs on the second layer, I have no idea why most of them went by this protection. They are fixed. If you want the updated ISO, let me know. I can send it to you. Its 5.2GB and I have it uploaded by rapidshare.
